Privacy Policy
HudgeSoft Ltd. built Baby Sign (Android) and Baby Sign Companion (iOS) as commercial apps. These Services are provided by HudgeSoft Ltd. and are intended for use as described in this policy.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our apps. By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
Information We Collect
We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. The app does not ask you to create an account, does not collect your name or email address, and does not store personally identifiable information on our servers.
However, certain device and usage data is collected automatically to help us understand how the app is used, diagnose problems, and improve the Service.
Device and Usage Data (Log Data)
When you use the app, information may be collected automatically through third-party tools, such as:
- IP address (which may indicate your approximate location)
- Device model and device name
- Operating system version
- App settings and configuration at the time of an issue
- Time and date of app usage
- Performance statistics (for example, how often certain screens or features are used)
We use this information, in aggregated and anonymised form where possible, to operate, secure and improve the app and to understand how people use it.
We retain this device and usage information only for as long as necessary to analyse app performance and usage, after which it is either deleted or stored in a form that does not personally identify you.
Third-Party Services
The app uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device or understand how the app is used.
Third-party services used:
Use of Meta (Facebook) App Events
We use Meta’s “App Events” technology to help us understand how people use the app and to measure the effectiveness of any advertising we run on Meta platforms (such as Facebook and Instagram). For example, it helps us understand whether people who see our adverts go on to install or use the app.
The information shared with Meta may include:
- Basic app interactions (such as opening the app)
- General device information (device model, OS version)
We do not collect or share personal details such as your name, email address, photos,
or the specific content you view in the app.
If device identifiers (for example, an advertising ID) are collected by these services,
they are used only to measure installs, app usage and the performance of our advertising in aggregate,
not to create behavioural profiles or show personalised ads to you.
We do not use Meta’s tools to track you across other apps or websites
in order to target personalised advertising.
We do not use behavioural tracking or personalised advertising profiles within the app.
Meta processes this information on our behalf to provide aggregated analytics that help us improve the app and understand the performance of our advertising.
iOS-specific disclosure:
On iOS, Baby Sign Companion does not currently request permission to track
and does not engage in cross-app tracking as defined by Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework.
Cookies
The app does not use cookies directly. However, some third-party services may use cookies to support their features. You may choose to manage or block cookies through your device settings.
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals to:
- Facilitate the Service
- Provide the Service on our behalf
- Perform Service-related tasks
- Assist us in analysing app usage
These third parties may have access to certain device-level information solely for performing their tasks and are obligated not to use it for any other purpose.
Security
We value your trust and take data protection seriously. While we use commercially acceptable measures to protect information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided such information, please contact us so we can delete it promptly.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights in relation to your personal data, such as the right to access, correct or delete information we hold about you, or to object to certain types of processing. Because we collect very limited information directly, you may find that we have little or no personal data that can be linked back to you as an individual.
If you have any questions about your data or wish to exercise any rights available to you under applicable law, please contact us at admin@hudgesoft.uk and we will respond in line with our legal obligations.
